A level toppers in nepal


The Cambridge International Examination (CIE) and the British Council Nepal jointly awarded the title of ‘Brilliance in Nepal’ to students who appeared in Advance (A) and Advance Subsidiary (AS) levels exams amidst a function in the capital Tuesday.
Vice-President Parmananda Jha, the Country Director of the British Council Ewan Davies, CIE representative and Country Manager of South Asia Ian Chamber gave away the CIE certificates to 26 examinees taking the A and AS CIE level examinations in June and November 2008.
Addressing the function, Vice-President Jha urged the students to utilise their talents and skills for the nation after receiving higher education. Jha said that the future of the country lies in the hands of such talented students.
"The country should also respect and recognise their potentiality," Jha said.
Abhimanyu Chhetri of Chelsea International School and Anoj Shahi of King’s College became the world toppers in the Cambridge International AS level held in June 2008. Chhetri and Shahi topped in the subjects of General Paper and Mathematics respectively.
Risav Karna from Kathmandu Saipal Academy became world topper in Cambridge International AS level exams held in November 2008.
Similarly, Shristi Pandey, Rato Bangala School topped in Nepal across any three Cambridge International A levels and one Cambridge International AS level in June 2008.
Likewise, Vijay Kumar Thapa, Cosmos International College, Pokhara, Gwyneth Hodgins, The British School, Kathmandu, Anoj Shahi, King’s College, Stephanie Vel En Tial, The British School, Kathmandu and Jonathan Daniel Handali, Kathmandu International Study Centre respectively topped in their individual subjects in Computing, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics, Art and Design and Business Studies that held within the Nepal. They had topped CIE AS level exams that held in June 2008. Shahi had also topped in physics too.
In the A level CIE exams category, Pratham Raj Joshi, Kathmandu Malpi Institute, Rosie Hogg, The British School, Kathmandu, Roma Aryal, Rato Bangala School, Shristi Pandey, Kritish Rajbhandari, Budhanilkantha School, Kritish Rajbhandari, Budhanilkantha School, Biswa Giir, Rato Bangala School, Pranab Acharya, Kathmandu Malpi Institute, Narendra Raj Regmi Budhanilkantha

School and Gokuleshwor Pokharel, Budhanilkantha School respectively topped in their individual subjects-- Computing, Psychology, Sociology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Accounting, Business Studies, Economics and Mathematics. The CIE exams of these examinees were held in June 2008.
Similarly, the exams that held on November 2008 under AS level, Shama Pandey, Rato Bangala School, Risav Karna, Kathmandu Saipal Academy, Manish Jung Thapa, Chelsea International Academy, Sujesh Shrestha, Kathmandu Academy, Birju Kumar Shah Kalwar, Kathmandu Saipal Academy and Khusboo Rana, Kathmandu Malpi Institute had respectively topped in their respective subjects--- General Paper, Computing, Biology, Accounting, Economics and Mathematics.
At the function, President of Cambridge Educators of Nepal (CEAN) Sudhir Kumar Jha, Ewan Davies, and Ian Chamber also made their remarks about the A-level education.
